Hello from Cheese Head Country! Made it to Appleton, WI last night...
Let me set the ambiance for you:
A steady, hard rain, pinging off the tin roof. A roaring fire in a very remote cabin in the mountains of NC. A couple of bottles of a great blend wine. A king size bed, with at least 1,000 count sheets. A gorgeous woman spooned up with you!
OK, that is how my yesterday went........except:
There was no roaring fire place. But, I did have to use my heated vest due to the temp only being high 40's when we started yesterday morning. Oh, and there was no great bottle of wine. I did have a beer with pizza though. No king size bed either, just my motorcycle seat. Oh, and no gorgeous woman either. I did see a cute girl at the HD dealership though. I don't think her husband was in the mood to share. But, I did have the steady HARD rain! And it was pinging.....off my helmet and face shield! So, almost the same setting.
Yep, yesterday was not the best of riding days. We started by going south vs north. Steve had to take his bike in. It got to where it would not shift. It was the rear shifting fork that goes into transmission. Almost a $400 repair. We finally got underway toward WI around 2 PM.
The good news while sitting there I did figure out how to get the new video camera working. OK, fine...I did have to call the manufacturer to get some help! Big deal..if the directions say plug a particular plug into a hole....I think they should have a picture of which hole to plug it into! Regardless it's now up and working. Look for videos to start showing up.
The dealership was in Gaylord, MI. From there to my friends in Appleton was 335 miles. We left at 1 PM Central time and was here by 630 PM! Made some excellent time. IN THE RAIN!
Got to Appleton and meet up with the Cheese Head MC! More pizza and beer. What a great time was head. Today is a "rest day, laundry day, wash bike day." Tomorrow we are heading to Bayfield, WI.
There are no pictures today. I am pretty sure my camera is not water proof!
Fish Fry Friday! If you are every in the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan there is one thing for sure....Friday's are Fish Fry day! Every restaurant sign we passed...FISH FRY FRIDAY! With that said....I am taking the Saturday off. Look for a post on Sunday night.
Later Taters!
Rick (MDD)
